Living in Beenleigh

Beenleigh

Local Government Authority: Logan City

Location: 48 km to Surfers Paradise and 36km to Brisbane

Features: Affordable area within commuting distance of Brisbane or the Gold Coast with Train and main transport station.

Beenleigh is located approximately 35 kilometres south of Brisbane's CBD. Originally from Devon, England, the name 'Beenleigh' can be traced back to 1864 when the first farm was established in the area. Although once completely separated from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the advancing urban sprawl has almost engulfed Beenleigh with the highway to Brisbane almost completely developed on both sides.

Located next to the Pacific Highway and benefiting from a major railway station, Beenleigh attracts many commuters who are willing to travel but choose not to pay the higher housing prices that are achieved closer to the Brisbane CBD

As the commuter belt between Brisbane and the Gold Coast continues to expand, Beenleigh is well poised to gain from a decreasing supply of land in the region and the attraction of living in an area, which still retains a local community spirit.

The area is serviced with a central shopping precinct and the Logan Hyperdome located about five minutes drive north on the Pacific Highway.
Educational facilities in Beenleigh include local primary and high schools, while recreational activities aren't hard to come by with numerous recreational parks along with the Beenleigh Showgrounds.
